2007-05-31 17:00:00
Royal Procession from Prague to Karlątejn (or A Journey of Charles IV with Crown Jewels) is a name of the remarkable historic event for all those who are attracted by knight encounters, historic festivities, ride in a horse-drawn carriage, demonstrations of original crafts or just a walk through a beautiful countryside.
Royal Procession from Prague to Karlątejn will take place under the auspices of Mr. Petr Bendl, the Governor of the Central Bohemia Region, and Mr. Pavel Bém, the Mayor of Prague, on Friday, 1st June and Saturday, 2nd June, 2007 in Prague City and Karlątejn Castle, Czech Republic...
Everybody can join from the Friday's morning at the Prague Castle to late night hours of the Saturday on the Castle of Karlątejn...
This historical Royal Procession follows the story of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia, who is taking imperial crown jewels, sacred symbols of the Holy Roman Empire, back to Karlątejn Castle. For a few days, the crown jewels were shown to pilgrims from all over Europe in the Chapel of Corpus Christi on the Cattle Market, a square in the New Town of Prague and now they are returning within the safe walls of the Castle of Karlątejn. There they will be redeposited in the altar of the Holy Cross Chapel.
